HC Deb 28 February 1939 vol 344 c1063
8. Mr. Holdsworth (for Mr. Hepworth)

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether his attention has been called to the serious developments with regard to the competition of Italian woollen manufacturers with exports of Bradford woollen goods; and whether he proposes to take any action in this matter?

Mr. Stanley

I am aware that the competition of Italian woollen manufactures in certain export markets has lately become increasingly severe. His Majesty's Government are watching developments with a view to taking any action that may be possible to assist the British trade where necessary. If my hon. Friend has any special market in mind, perhaps he will send me particulars.
