HC Deb 20 February 1939 vol 344 cc23-4
38. Mr. Adamson

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether it is his intention, when visiting the fishing ports, to consult with the representatives of the fishermen's organisations?

Sir R. Dorman-Smith

I have not yet had an opportunity to consider any detailed plans for visits to fishing ports, but I shall hope to utilise such visits to acquaint myself as fully as possible with all aspects of the fishing industry.

Mr. Adamson

Will the Minister bear in mind, in the event of his visiting the fishing ports, that there is a committee already in existence representing both sides of the industry?

Sir R. Dorman-Smith

I will certainly bear that fact in mind.
