§ 45. Mr. H. G. Williamsasked the Prime Minister whether, in view of the anxiety existing as to the position in Cyprus, he will consider the question of advising the appointment of a Royal Commission to inquire into the matter?
§ The Prime MinisterNo, Sir. I am advised that the situation in Cyprus is not such as to call for investigation by a Royal Commission.
§ Mr. WilliamsWill my right hon. Friend consider the possibility of some other form of investigation in view of the obvious anxiety which exists?
§ The Prime MinisterMy information is that the situation probably is one that can be dealt with by the Secretary of State in conjunction with the Governor.
