HC Deb 14 February 1939 vol 343 cc1535-6
33. Mr. Hamilton Kerr

asked the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs whether he will obtain any assurance from the New Zealand Government that under their new system of controlling imports they will not reduce the imports of Lancashire textiles below the average level of recent years?

Sir T. Inskip

The probable effect upon the United Kingdom export trade to New Zealand of the system of import licences which has recently been introduced in New Zealand is at present under examination by the Government here, and I am not at the moment in a position to make a statement.
