§ 3. Mr. Day
asked the Secretary of State for War particulars of the number of recruits required to complete the recruiting establishment of the infantry of the line at the present time.

§ Mr. Hore-Belisha
On 1st February the deficit on the recruiting establishment of the infantry of the line, Regular Army, was approximately 7,000.

§ Mr. Day
Does the right hon. Gentleman consider the progress that is being made satisfactory?

§ Mr. Hore-Belisha
Yes, Sir, and it is far in excess of any estimate that I have given.
