HC Deb 06 February 1939 vol 343 c622
13. Mr. Pilkington

asked the Prime Minister whether, in view of Herr Hitler's statement that his offers to limit armaments have been rejected, His Majesty's Government will again make it clear that they are willing to enter into discussions for this purpose immediately?

The Prime Minister

I would refer my hon. Friend to my statement on 31st January, to which I have nothing to add.

Mr. Pilkington

Will my right hon. Friend not make a positive approach to the German Government with a view to bringing this matter to a satisfactory conclusion?

The Prime Minister

I do not think the time has come for that.
