§ Mr. BurginNegotiations with the railway company regarding the bridge scheme are proceeding satisfactorily. Boreholes are about to be sunk in order to obtain data required for the preparation of the design. It is hoped that the bridge works will be commenced before the end of this year. The footpath on the south side of the road does not continue under the bridge. For the safety of pedestrians crossing to the footpath on the north side, pedestrian crossing places are proposed to the east and west of the bridge. That on the west is already being laid down.
