§ 83. Mr. McEnteeasked the Minister of Pensions what number of male clerks of all grades have been discharged from his Department since 2nd September last; what number were ex-service men; and what number of female clerks of all grades were discharged during the same period?
§ Sir W. WomersleyOne temporary clerk only has been discharged by the Ministry since the date mentioned. He was an ex-service man, who, however, had been only very recently recruited. Nine other men and 24 women clerks (temporary and established) have retired on various grounds, such as age, ill-health, and, in the case of a few temporary clerks, unwillingness to be evacuated.
§ 84. Mr. McEnteeasked the Minister of Pensions what number of male and female clerks have been engaged by his Department since 2nd September last in a temporary capacity; and what number of males and of females so engaged have been given executive rank?
§ Sir W. WomersleySince 2nd September last 163 men and 425 women have been engaged as temporary clerks. None of these clerks has been given executive rank.
