§ The Prime MinisterAs I stated in reply to a question by the hon. Member on 17th November, 1938, the defence of Scotland is an integral and essential part of the defence of the United Kingdom as a whole. The defences include patrols of the coasts of the Western Isles by warships. It would be contrary to the public interest to disclose details of arrangements for naval provisioning or refuelling.
