HC Deb 26 April 1939 vol 346 c1140
51. Mr. Creech Jones

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he has considered a petition from the descendants of the Kintu, who are the indigenous people of the Buganda kingdom of Uganda Protectorate, on the subject of the recent Uganda Ordinance dealing with the incorporation of native administrations; and whether he has consented to the plea made by these people?

Mr. M. MacDonald

The petition is at present under consideration, and I am not therefore at present in a position to make a statement.

Mr. Creech Jones

Will the right hon. Gentleman give sympathetic consideration to the representations of these people?
