HC Deb 26 April 1939 vol 346 c1116
17. Mr. Lipson

asked the Secretary of State for Air whether he will facilitate the efforts of the Air Defence Cadet Corps to enrol 20,000 cadets within the next few months and train them to be air-minded by making a per capita grant of £1 for each cadet enrolled?

The Secretary of State for Air (Sir Kingsley Wood)

The Air Defence Cadet Corps which is successfully engaged on such useful work is organised and administered by the Air League of the British Empire and receives a grant from my Department. I have not received any representations from the Air League for an increase in the amount of the grant at present payable to them.

Mr. Lipson

While thanking the right hon. Gentleman for his reply, may I ask whether if he receives an application it will receive sympathetic consideration?

Sir K. Wood

I will await the application.
