HC Deb 25 April 1939 vol 346 cc941-2
16. Mr. Shinwell

asked the Secretary for Mines whether he can make a state- ment on the Government's plans for storing reserve stocks of coal and oil in preparation for an emergency?

Mr. Lloyd

As regards oil, I would refer the hon. Member to the reply which I gave to-day to the hon. Member for Southwark, Central (Mr. Day). The same answer is applicable to coal, but I can assure the hon. Member that appropriate action is being taken.
