HC Deb 05 April 1939 vol 345 c2763
25. Mr. Roland Robinson

asked the Minister of Transport when the report made by the chief engineering inspector of the Electricity Commissioners as to the outcome of the public inquiry into the causes of the failure of electricity supply in Blackpool, Lytham St. Annes and the Fylde Coast, during the week-end of 7th January, will be published; and whether the inspector has suggested to the commissioners any means of preventing such a breakdown in the future?

Mr. Burgin

The Electricity Commissioners will publish the report as soon after Easter as possible. As regards the second part of the question, my hon. Friend will no doubt await the terms of the report.

Mr. Thorne

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that gas - light and coke companies never fail?
