§ 10. Mr. Tomlinsonasked the President of the Board of Trade what action he proposes to take now with respect to the Anglo-Indian Trade Agreement, in view of its rejection by the Legislative Assembly?
§ Mr. StanleyThe rejection by the Indian Legislative Assembly of the motion which invited them to approve the Agreement does not preclude the Government of India from giving effect to it. I understand that they propose to do so, and that a Bill for that purpose was introduced in the Assembly on Friday last.
§ Mr. TomlinsonCan the right hon. Gentleman say whether this action of the Legislative Assembly is likely to militate against smooth working?
§ Mr. StanleyThat is a matter of opinion.
