asked the Minister of Agriculture the average producer's price per gallon of milk for a period of 12 months, calculated to the most convenient date for the years 1936 and 1937; and further, what was the annual average price of all feeding-stuffs for the years 1936 and 1937, on the basis of the index figure for the year 1930 being 100?

The average pool price paid to producers for milk sold under the Milk Marketing Scheme was 11.48 pence per gallon in the 12 months ended 30th September, 1936, and 11.09 pence per gallon in the following 12 months. The annual index numbers of prices of feeding-stuffs in the calendar years 1936 and 1937 were, respectively, 97 and 125, average prices in the year 1930 being taken as 100.
