HC Deb 28 November 1938 vol 342 c15
8. Sir Charles Cayzer

asked the Prime Minister whether he has made any representations to the Soviet authorities with regard to Mr. Brian Grover, who flew from Stockholm recently and landed at Staritza, near Moscow, for the purpose of obtaining the release of his Russian wife from Soviet nationality; and whether he will use his influence to secure the early return to this country of Mr. Grover and his wife?

Mr. Butler

Yes, Sir. Before Mr. Grover's flight, unofficial representations had already been made on behalf of the lady, who was a Soviet citizen; and His Majesty's Charge d'Affaires at Moscow is now in communication with the Soviet authorities regarding the position of Mr. Grover himself.
