HC Deb 28 November 1938 vol 342 c2
3. Mr. Sorensen

asked the Under-Secretary of State for India whether he is aware of the activities of foreign political parties in India; and what steps he is taking to counteract this propaganda?

Colonel Llewellin

Activities of this nature in India hitherto have not been such as to call for special notice, but the matter is the subject of careful observation. If the hon. Member has any information that he wishes to bring to the attention of my Noble Friend, I have no doubt that he will be glad to make inquiries.

Mr. Sorensen

Has the hon. and gallant Gentleman seen certain reports in the Indian Press making very specific allegations regarding these activities; and, if so, can he say how far these allegations are correct?

Colonel Llewellin

I have not. That is the sort of subject-matter which, if the hon. Member would bring it to our attention, we would certainly consider.

Mr. H. G. Williams

Can my hon. and gallant Friend say whether these activities were both Fascist and Communist?
