HC Deb 22 November 1938 vol 341 c1523
33. Mr. Shinwell

asked the President of the Board of Trade when he expects to receive a report from the committee now engaged in considering the state of the Mercantile Marine?

Mr. Stanley

I presume that the hon. Member's question refers to the inquiry now being conducted by the Shipping Industry. I am informed that the inquiry is being pressed forward with all despatch, but that no date can yet be indicated for its completion.

Mr. Shinwell

Are the committee dealing with every aspect of the Mercantile Marine, or only with that relating to the Pacific?

Mr. Stanley

Oh, no, Sir; they are dealing with every aspect.
