HC Deb 21 November 1938 vol 341 c1319
8. Mr. A. Henderson

asked the Prime Minister whether he will make a statement on the recent conversations between King Carol and Members of His Majesty's Government?

The Prime Minister

The conversations between King Carol and the Rumanian Minister for Foreign Affairs on the one hand, and Members of His Majesty's Government on the other, were naturally confidential, and I can make no detailed statement. I can, however, assure the House that the discussions were of a most frank and friendly character and covered matters of common concern to the two Governments both in the political and economic fields.
