§ 52. Mr. E. J. Williamsasked the Minister of Agriculture whether he is aware of periodic flooding in the Pencoed area of Glamorgan and the damage done to farmers and other inhabitants; and what steps he proposes to take to prevent its recurrence.
§ Mr. W. S. MorrisonI am not aware that there has been flooding in the immediate neighbourhood of Pencoed. In any case the responsible authority for taking preventive measures is the Mid-Glamorgan Rivers Catchment Board, who are in fact engaged in carrying out, with the aid of a grant under Section 55 of the Land Drainage Act, 1930, a scheme of improvement works on the River Ewenny.
