HC Deb 17 November 1938 vol 341 cc1028-9
22. Mr. Roland Robinson

asked the Minister of Labour whether he will ask the Unemployment Insurance Statutory Committee to give special consideration to the case of seasonal workers?

Mr. E. Brown

The seasonal workers order has been under reconsideration on a number of occasions and I do not know of any ground for revising it at the present time.

Mr. Robinson

Will my right hon. Friend bear in mind the very strong views that were expressed in the House in the Debate on the last report of the Statutory Committee?

Mr. Brown

I well remember that, but the House will also recall the very difficult situation which arose before the original Act.
