§ 7. Mr. Bellenger
asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he has noted the refusal of the packing companies to give facilities to the committee of inquiry into the Anglo-Argentine meat trade to collect evidence; and whether he proposes 658 to take any action to implement the recommendations of the committee?
§ The President of the Board of Trade (Mr. Oliver Stanley)
I am aware that the majority of the companies concerned were unwilling to furnish the committee with certain figures for which they had asked. The committee's recommendations cover a wide field, and are in the main addressed to the Argentine Government. So far as they concern His Majesty's Government, they are under consideration.
§ Mr. Bellenger
Are His Majesty's Government still in consultation with the Argentine Government regarding the recommendations contained in these reports?
