HC Deb 14 November 1938 vol 341 c482
36. Mr. Turton

asked the Minister of Agriculture what measures the Government propose to introduce to remedy the grave situation in sheep farming?

Mr. W. S. Morrison

With regard to the general position of the sheep industry, I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply given to my hon. and gallant Friend the Member for Penrith and Cockermouth (Major Dower), on 1st November.

Mr. T. Johnston

Can the right hon. Gentleman take no steps whatever to deal with the wide and continual variations that are taking place in the price of wool to the great detriment of the producer?

Mr. Morrison

The right hon. Gentleman will remember that the price of wool is a world price.
