HC Deb 03 November 1938 vol 340 c366
42. Mr. Thorne

asked the Home Secretary whether he can give any information in connection with the accident at the Aspen Laundry, Wembley, on Monday last, when a man was killed by being caught in a machine; and whether the machine was properly protected?

Sir S. Hoare

I understand that the victim of this accident had climbed up to some unfenced overhead shafting in order to mount a belt, and got carried round the shaft. The action to be taken is under consideration.
