HC Deb 31 May 1938 vol 336 cc1834-7
Mr. Attlee

May I ask the Prime Minister what business it is proposed to take in the event of the Eleven o'Clock Rule being suspended?

The Prime Minister

We propose to suspend the Eleven o'Clock Rule in order to conclude the remaining stages of the Air Navigation Bill and to obtain the Committee stage of the Herring Industry Bill. We propose also to take the three outstanding Import Duties Orders, the Motion to approve the Cattle (Import Regulation) Revocation Order, and the Report stage of the Imperial Telegraphs Money Resolution. All these items are exempted Business.

Motion made, and Question put, That the Proceedings on Government Business be exempted, at this day's Sitting, from the provisions of the Standing Order (Sittings of the House)."—(The Prime Minister.)
