asked the Minister of Health whether any conversations have yet taken place with representatives of local authorities with regard to the suggested legislation under which they are to have power to decide whether or not there shall be compulsory pasteurisation of milk sold in the area under their control; and, if not, whether he proposes to have such consultations?

Yes, Sir. My Department and that of my right hon. Friend the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries are in consultation with representatives of the associations of local authorities concerned.
