asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether he has any further information to give with regard to the acquisition by His Majesty's Government in the Commonwealth of Australia of cruisers from this country?

Yes, Sir. The House will be pleased to learn that His Majesty's Government in the Commonwealth of Australia have decided to strengthen the Royal Australian Navy by purchasing His Majesty's Ship "Apollo" this year and His Majesty's Ship "Amphion" in 1939. As a part of the arrangement His Majesty's Government in the United Kingdom have agreed to purchase His Majesty's Australian Ship "Albatross," a seaplane carrier completed in 1929.
