HC Deb 25 May 1938 vol 336 c1189
20. Mr. Day

asked the Prime Minister if he will give particulars of the arrangements made at the recent interview between the representatives of His Majesty's Government M. Daladier, Premier of France, and M. Bonnet, Foreign Secretary for France, on the question of the assistance that will be rendered to either nation in the case of a national emergency; and how far such co-operation will extend and be operative?

The Prime Minister

I would draw the attention of the hon. Member to the statement which was issued at the close of the recent Anglo-French conversations, in which it was stated inter alia that the two Governments decided to continue as might be necessary the contacts between their General Staffs established under the arrangement reached in London on 19th March, 1936. There is nothing to add to this statement.
