§ 55. Miss Wilkinsonasked the President of the Board of Trade what licences for the export of arms and war material to Italy have been granted during the last six months; and what was the total value of such exports?
Mr. StanleyThree licences have been issued during the last six months for the export of arms and war material from the United Kingdom to Italy. As I have previously explained, His Majesty's Government consider that it is contrary to the public interest to publish particulars of licences issued for the export of arms and ammunition to particular destinations; but the total value of the arms, ammunition and military and naval stores registered as consigned from the United Kingdom to Italy from 1st November, 1937, to 30th April, 1938, was £302.
