HC Deb 23 May 1938 vol 336 c847
46. Mr. Tinker

asked the Prime Minister whether he will grant a day to discuss the White Paper, Cmd. 5738, dealing with the condition of ex-service men?

The Prime Minister

I am afraid that in the present state of public business I cannot afford a special opportunity for the discussion of this White Paper.

Mr. Tinker

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that many hon. Members on both sides who have read this White Paper feel that it raises points which can be answered only in debate; and will he not reconsider giving an opportunity for discussing this very important matter?

The Prime Minister

The hon. Member knows that if an opportunity could be found, we would desire to have a Debate.

Mr. Tinker

I will take advantage of that offer, and I give notice that I will call attention to this matter on the the first available opportunity.
