HC Deb 19 May 1938 vol 336 c572
43. Mr. Lipson

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Education whether he will consider the desirability of setting up a Departmental Committee to inquire into the staggering of school holidays?

The Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Education (Mr. Kenneth Lindsay)

My Noble Friend is alive to the importance of early consideration being given to the educational implications of the report of the Committee on Holidays with Pay and he has initiated discussions, which will begin next week, between representatives of the Board, the local education authorities and the teaching profession.
