§ Mr. Hore-BelishaDuring the year 1937–38, approximately 31,685,000 lbs. of frozen meat, at least 99 per cent. of which was of Dominion origin, were purchased for approximately £536,000. The extra cost, apart from additional charges arising from storage, handling and inspection, of supplying the same quantity of home-killed meat would be about £439,000.
