HC Deb 09 May 1938 vol 335 c1226
28. Mr. Ellis Smith

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware that unbranded products are imported into New Zealand and other countries; that after their arrival seals are placed on them, such as "Longton," "Burslem," "Windsor," etc., thus misleading the public; and will he consider taking steps to deal with this problem?

The Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Trade (Captain Euan Wallace)

I am not aware of the practice described by the hon. Member, but if he will send me particulars of any specific cases I shall be glad to make inquiries into them.
