Mr. Morganasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies when the International Sugar Council last met; when it is expected to meet again; and whether, in view of the fall in the value of sugar since the completion of the international sugar agreement, he will take steps to expedite a meeting of the council with a view to disposing of the uncertainty which the present delay has caused?
§ Mr. Ormsby-GoreThe last meeting of the International Sugar Council took place on 4th. 5th and 6th October, 1937. A communiqué has now been issued stating that the next meeting will be held in London on 27th April; the last part of the question does not, therefore, arise.
