HC Deb 30 March 1938 vol 333 cc1995-6
48. Mr. David Adams

asked the Prime Minister whether it is intended to set up a planning committee representative of the industrial, commercial, financial and scientific interests of the country, for the purpose of advising the Government on economic and other problems in relation to Government policy?

The Prime Minister

I would refer the hon. Member to the reply which I gave to the hon. Member for Stoke (Mr. E. Smith) on 4th November, 1937.

Mr. Adams

Has the Prime Minister taken into consideration the question of setting up such a planning committee?

The Prime Minister

The answer to which I have referred said there was no necessity for any such elaboration as the hon. Member proposes.
