§ 46. Mr. Dunnasked the Minister of Health whether he will publish a statement showing the amount of rates levied by the county councils of England and Wales in each of the years since 1930 and including 1938, also a statement of the estimated amount of rates rebated in the same years by the county councils of England and Wales due to the derating Acts, and also the amounts paid to the same county councils under the block grant scheme in the years 1930 to 1938, respectively?
§ The Minister of Health (Sir Kingsley Wood)The desired particulars in respect of the years 1930–31 to 1934–35 inclusive have been published in the statistical returns issued by my Department, in the year 1934–35 under the title of "Local Government Financial Statistics" and in the earlier years under the title of "Annual Local Taxation Returns." I will send the hon. Member a statement giving particulars for the later years. As regards the matter of rebates, I regret that the particulars are not available upon which an estimate could be based.
