HC Deb 24 March 1938 vol 333 cc1372-3
56. Mr. Mander

asked the Minister of Health whether he will consider the advisability of taking the necessary steps, by legislation or otherwise, to appoint a committee to inquire into the circumstances in which Seymour Hall has been let by the Marylebone Borough Council for monthly meetings of the Pro-Nazi Anglo-German Fellowship and is refused to other political bodies?

Sir K. Wood

I am making inquiries into the matter and will inform the hon. Member of the result.

Mr. Mander

Will the right hon. Gentleman bear in mind that the holding of this meeting is strongly resented locally by persons of all parties, that it is a secret meeting at which the public and the Press are not admitted, and that it is a meeting of German Nazis in this country to celebrate the capture of Austria? Will he bear these matters in mind?

Mr. Gallacher

Will the Minister of Health ask the Home Office to send a representative to attend this meeting and they will find there many Nazis who are over here in service?
