§ 56. Mr. Tinkerasked the Minister of Transport what progress has been made with the lighting of the Liverpool to Manchester East Lancashire road; and when it will be completed?
§ Mr. BurginI have informed local authorities that as from 1st April next 1202 I shall be prepared to enter into agreements with the responsible lighting authorities to make a contribution at the rate of 50 per cent. towards the cost of installation and maintenance of new or improved systems of lighting on trunk roads. I have not yet received any application for the purpose in respect of those portions of the road in question which are in the trunk road category.
