§ Lieut.-Colonel LlewellinI am unable to accept the hon. Member's suggestion that officers and rating pilots will perform identical duties. Those of the rating pilots will not call for the same degree of responsibility, training and knowledge, as those of officers, and this difference is reflected both in the substantive and in the non-substantive rates of pay.
