HC Deb 15 March 1938 vol 333 cc200-1
32. Mr. A. Reed

asked the Secretary for Mines whether he is aware that many divergent opinions are held as to the guarantees given by the mineowners on the coal selling schemes; and whether, therefore, he is prepared to issue a White Paper setting forth those guarantees in a clear and concise form?

The Secretary for Mines (Captain Crookshank)

I shall be glad to arrange for the issue of a White Paper in accordance with my hon. Friend's request.

Sir John Mellor

Have these guarantees already become effective?

Mr. Radford

Will my hon. and gallant Friend include in the statement a clear definition of what constitutes a first purchaser?
