§ Lieut.-Colonel ColvilleThe answer to the first part of the question is that Messrs. J. A. Davis and Company, of 94–104, Denmark Hill, S.E.5, are not contractors to His Majesty's Government. As regards the second part of the question, no contracts have been placed with this firm since the War. The firm claim that they supplied a number of binoculars to Woolwich Arsenal during the War, but owing to the lapse of time it has not been possible to verify this claim. Even if this claim were substantiated, it would not justify the firm in describing themselves as "Government Contractors," and the firm have been so informed.
