HC Deb 14 March 1938 vol 333 cc32-3
Mr. Attlee

May I ask the Prime Minister whether he has any statement to make in regard to the business for to-day?

The Prime Minister

At the request of the Leader of the Opposition, foreign affairs will be debated to-day on the Report stage of the Civil Vote on Account, instead of unemployment as previously announced. Conversations have taken place through the usual channels as to the Report stages of the outstanding Supplementary Estimates, with the result that we have agreed to take only those contained in the second Order. Accordingly, Mr. Speaker, with your permission, I would like to amend the Motion which stands upon the Paper in my name by omitting from it the reference to Reports of Supply of 8th and 9th March.

Ordered, That this clay, notwithstanding anything in Standing Order No. 14, Supplementary Estimates may be considered on Report before or after Eleven of the clock, and that the Proceedings on the Report of Supply of 1st, March be exempted, at this day's Sitting, from the provisions of the Standing Order (Sittings of the House)."—[The Prime Miniser.]
