HC Deb 08 March 1938 vol 332 c1687
7. Mr. Garro Jones

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he is satisfied that the present equipment of the Army in anti-tank rifles and light guns is equal in each type to that of Germany and France?

Mr. Hore-Belisha

Yes, Sir.

Mr. Garro Jones

Is the right hon. Gentleman satisfied that they are the equivalent of the German and French corresponding weapons, both in type and quantity?

Mr. Hore-Belisha

The hon. Gentleman asked me a question about quality, and I have answered it. Of course, we do not pretend to have the same quantities as Continental armies.
