§ Sir S. HoareChief Constables of the county and borough police forces are entitled to enlist the aid of Scotland Yard detectives in the investigation of serious alleged crimes. One chief inspector of the Criminal Investigation Department and one sergeant of the Metropolitan Police Force have been engaged in assisting the Gloucestershire Constabulary in the case referred to, and the cost of their services will be borne by the Metropolitan Police Fund.
