HC Deb 30 June 1938 vol 337 c2126
82. Mr. Creech Jones

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that the Army vocational training centre at Aldershot closes on 30th June, and that two members of the staff, one a welder and the other a plasterer, both family men, have been thrown into unemployment as a result; and what steps, if any, are being taken to utilise their experience, particularly at the present time, when their qualifications are outstanding?

Sir V. Warrender

I regret that it has not yet been possible to find employment for the men in question, but, as my right hon. Friend stated on 21st June, every endeavour will be made to absorb them.
