HC Deb 28 June 1938 vol 337 c1694
40. Mr. Marcus Samuel

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he has any information as to the date and exact provisions for the abolition of the Spanish Government shipping regulations whereby foreign vessels are now permitted to engage in Spanish coastal trade; and what are the details of that information?

Mr. Stanley

I have not received any detailed information on the matter referred to by my hon. Friend, but I understand that for some time past foreign (non-Spanish) shipping has been allowed by the Spanish Government to participate in the coasting trade between their ports.
