HC Deb 28 June 1938 vol 337 cc1691-2
36. Major Rayner

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether his attention has been called to the fact that a substantial increase in the imports from Norway during the first quarter of 1938 as compared with the corresponding quarter of 1937 has been accompanied by a decline in the British exports to that country; and whether he can offer any explanation of this situation?

Mr. Stanley

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. With regard to the second part, I would refer my hon. and gallant Friend to the answer given on 23rd May to a similar question relating to Belgium by my hon. Friend the Member for Newport (Sir R. Clarry).
