HC Deb 28 June 1938 vol 337 c1720
77. Mr. Sorensen

asked the Prime Minister whether he is now in a position to make a statement as to whether His Majesty's Government are prepared to initiate immediate action respecting the international abolition of aerial warfare?

The Prime Minister

I would refer the hon. Member to the statement I made in the House on 2rst June, in which I explained that His Majesty's Government are already engaged in a survey of the questions at issue.

Mr. Sorensen

Is the right hon. Gentleman not aware that when I asked a similar question he referred me to the Debate which was to follow, and is it not a fact that no reference was made in that Debate to the major part of that question?

The Prime Minister

I do not know whether that was the case, but I think that the answer which I gave to the hon. Member gave all the information I could.

Mr. Sorensen

May I take it that the right hon. Gentleman will take no initiative in this matter?

The Prime Minister

Not until we have completed our survey.

Mr. Mander

Is not action the last thing in which the Government are interested?
