HC Deb 15 June 1938 vol 337 c199
15. Mr. Mathers

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether he will make a statement regarding contemplated developments at Port Edgar naval base and indicate how many men it is anticipated will be employed there and for what period?

Mr. Cooper

It is not at present contemplated to undertake the development of the naval base at Port Edgar, though some existing buildings are being converted to provide hospital accommodation for the Boys' Training Establishment in His Majesty's ship "Caledonia." The maximum number of men likely to be employed on this work is 150, and it should be completed in the autumn.
