HC Deb 02 June 1938 vol 336 c2236
71. Mr. Stokes

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether he is aware that, during the month of April, over 30,000,000 gallons of milk, forming approximately 40 per cent, of the total sales for the month, went to the factories at a price of 6.53d. per gallon; and whether he is prepared to take such steps as may be necessary to make as much as may be required of any such future surplus available for necessitous cases at 2d. per pint?

The Minister of Pensions (Mr. Ramsbotham)

I have been asked to reply. My right hon. Friend is aware of the facts referred to in the first part of the question. As regards the second part, I would refer the hon. Member to the answer given on 5th May to the hon. Member for Clay Cross (Mr. Ridley).
